posted this Gianourmous piece and alot of the detail still gets lost because this is just half its original size. My 13 inch macbook cant even display this image properly.

Anyhow this was a kick ass piece commissioned by :iconnerolink:
for his book series the Axis trilogy.

I will post a WIP since I think I have alot of progress shots saved somewhere :)

The way you rendered those mountains is pure awesomeness, I have been trying to learn how to do that myself but it usually looks awful, at least so far lol. My only critique is with the swordsman. as of now he seems like he is just there by random chance. The other two look like they belong there but he seems a little too separate. I also think the lighting on your characters could be just a tiny bit stronger

thanks buddy.

A tip on drawing mountains far away is do draw them out roughly and then take a big sized airbrush and dim them out a bit :)
The mountains in the foreground/middleground are a bit trickier though, thats where studying mountains comes in.

I see your point with the swordsman, but hes supposed to stick out a bit.

Regarding the lighting I agree, I considered it, and tried some different things but it all looked shit so I settled :D

Thanks for the awesome feedback.
